Beach Bits:

• In Carambula's first ever main draw match, in Huntington Beach in 2010, he defeated John Mayer and Olympian Jeff Nygaard.

2013: Carambula formed a partnership with Stafford Slick, and despite having to twice play in the qualifier, the duo had three fifth-place finishes in five AVP tournaments together and had one semifinal appearance, marking Carambula's first ever on the AVP Tour. He ended the season fourth in both digs per game (4.84) and hitting percentage (.448).
2012: Carambula played eight events on three different tours. His best finishes were a second with Grotowski and a third with Braidy Halverson.
2011: Playing on three different tours with three different partners, Carambula had two thirds and five fifths in his eight tournaments.
2010: Carambula started the year by winning three AVP Young Guns events with three different partners. On the AVP Tour, he played five event with four different partners. His first event he did not make it out of the qualifier but in the second event, with Matt Henderson in Huntington Beach, the duo advanced and finished 13th. In his last three events he was seeded directly into the main draw, and had 13th-place finishes with both Seth Burnham and Russ Marchewka. Carambula and Steve Grotowski ended the year with a third-place finish in an event in Cincinnati.
2009: Carambula played in two events, both in March in Florida. He and Marcos Macau won an AVP Young Guns tournament, then the duo played in an AVP qualifier but failed to advance.
2008: Carambula played in one AVP qualifier with Herman Russian.
2007: Carambula played in three AVP qualifiers with Mike Morales.

Personal: Carambula was born and raised in Uruguay, where he lived until he moved to the United States at the age of 13. Living in south Florida, he first began playing beach volleyball at the age of 16 after never having played indoor volleyball. He also has Italian citizenship.
